Airform & Aircrete Workshops with Aircrete Harry
Build your own Tyvek dome airform and learn the complete aircrete process in five hands-on days with Aircrete Harry, fully indoors at the Learning Center.
Airform & Aircrete Workshops is a five-day dome-building intensive at Observer Ranch, taught by Aircrete Harry at the Learning Center. You will design, cut, assemble, and sew your own Tyvek dome airform, then work through the complete aircrete process: foam generation, mix preparation, and application techniques. Every session is held fully indoors, hands on from start to finish.
Early registration is open now. November session: register by October 22. December session: register by November 19. After those dates prices increase 10%: the 5-day workshop goes to $1,100, the 3-day to $660, and the 2-day to $440. Register early and lock in $1,000 / $600 / $400. Choose your pass and register.
Two workshops, one week
Days 1 through 3 are the Tyvek Dome Airform Workshop: design, cut, assemble, and sew your own dome airform.
Days 4 and 5 are Mastering Aircrete: what aircrete is, how it differs from conventional concrete, and how to mix, foam, and apply it consistently using the Aircrete Harry Foam Generator.
Or take the complete five days and learn both, from airform to aircrete.
What's included
- All airform materials and equipment: Masonite hardboard, Tyvek roll, rope, tape, markers, rulers, screws, sewing thread, and the industrial sewing machine
- All aircrete materials and specialized equipment: Drexel foaming agent, thickening agent, air entrainment liquid, foam generator, mixers, barrels, trowels, and tools
- Hands-on instruction from Aircrete Harry all five days
- Open to all ages: children as young as nine have taken part, with a parent or guardian supervising
Who it's for
Owner-builders, homesteaders, contractors, off-grid and tiny home builders, and anyone planning a dome, greenhouse, barn, casita, or workshop of their own. No experience needed. You leave able to design, fabricate, and build on your own, from a chicken coop to a multi-dome home.
Two identical sessions are offered: November 6 to 10 and December 4 to 8, 2026, held indoors at the Learning Center, starting at 9 AM daily with a one-hour lunch. Register for the full 5-day workshop ($1,000), the 3-day airform portion ($600, November 6-8 or December 4-6), or the 2-day aircrete portion ($400, November 9-10 or December 7-8). Each session is capped at 25 participants.
Early registration ends October 22 for November and November 19 for December. Prices go up 10% after those dates.
Registration does not include lodging. Book your stay separately through NewBook; a discount is applied automatically when you stay for the week.
About your host
Aircrete Harry teaches people to build durable, affordable homes and become more self-reliant. After a 25-year telecom career in New York, he turned to developing dome construction systems that are strong, energy efficient, and affordable to build. He teaches what he has learned through hands-on workshops and videos, drawing on both ancient construction techniques and modern materials.
