Astronaut Training Camp with Estes Rockets

Estes Rockets leads students in an astronaut training course at Observer Ranch. Kids explore the forces of flight, then build their own model rocket to take home and launch it. Geared toward 3rd through 5th grade, with 25 spots. This one sold out last time.

When should I arrive?

Plan to arrive a little before the start time so you can park and settle in without rushing. The schedule on this page lists when each part of the evening begins.

Where do I park?

On-site parking at the ranch is free. Follow the event signage when you arrive and our team will point you to the lot.

Can I stay overnight at the ranch?

Yes. Observer Ranch has A-frame cabins, planet-themed campers, and full-hookup RV sites right on the property. Book your stay separately so you can wake up steps from the event.

What should I bring?

Comfortable layers for changing mountain weather. This page lists anything specific to bring for the event, like a dish to share.

Is the venue accessible?

We want everyone to enjoy the ranch. If you have accessibility needs or questions, contact us before the event and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do I need a ticket?

No. These community events are free to attend, and donations are appreciated. Registering ahead of time helps us plan for the right number of people.
