The Campground Pueblo Drives To
Observer Ranch is in Penrose, about 35 minutes northwest of Pueblo, where the prairie starts folding into Royal Gorge country. It's the closest thing Pueblo has to a true dark-sky campground that still has full hookups and hot showers.

Weekends write themselves out here: the Royal Gorge, Arkansas River rafting, Cañon City, and some of the darkest night skies in southern Colorado, right above your campsite.
